Just more irrational hatred of BlackBerry physical keyboard... you missed the mark here, Linus...

This video includes a big amount of random rants about things that seem super irrelevant or can be changed if you wanted to. The only reason I opted to not get one is actually the keyboard that has a very stupid localization for where I am from which would have made typing way too complicated.

I still miss my Nokia E71 :(. I was able to type paragraphs on that thing without looking at the screen. The stupid virtual keyboards make you run into lamp posts instead.

I don't know. I am the part of the 'love for blackberry' community of this age, so if you ask me, bb is still the best. Then I never even saw a real key2 in front of me and not on my phone's display. And blackberry is still for tge businessmen. Bit then, think abt me. I am a 15 year old student from India, and I once owned an original bb os based blackberry with the physical Keypad, when I was 12! And I loved it. See, I am not someone to open the camera twenty times a day. In fact, I rarely use it once or twice a week. I don't do any heavy gaming (I am a subway surfer freak, that's it). Like c'mon, I am using a galaxy grand in 2019, and I have only two issues with this phone, terribe battery life and freezing constantly.
Then I recall the days with the blackberry, and I miss them. The convenient communication, superb security, it never even freezed once, and the feel of that awesome physical keypad. How much I hate these touch keypads on phones nowadays. Honestly, my phone works really fine most of the times, and I can do some fast typing, but only while making tonnes of errors. If you ask me, my blackberry was far better then galaxy grand, even if it did not have any front facing camera and a small screen...

Unless a phone can do dictation 100% without errors then a keyboard is necessary for productivity (not for entertainment obviously).

I feel like maybe he should of handed the Key2 over to someone else to review it. Linus is definitely not the intended user, and if he handed it to someone who is, we might have gotten a slightly less skewed review.

*THE O N L Y* sp that gets you instant attention, the moment you pull it out. Everything else? Is.... everything else. Is.... the boring, dull, uninspired norm and no nice colored skin(??) will change that.
Everyone and his mother made the productivity points already, so, no need to repeat. Its BB, its awesome, it has a keyboard, it allows you to type blind, it has touch on top, it has a trackpad included.

I use a BlackBerry Key2 as a work device only and it works great in that capacity. I bought it for the DTEK software, BB Hub, the great battery life and the 20% larger keyboard (over the Key1). The Key2 is a cross between a "rugged phone" and a work phone you're not afraid to abuse. Don't look for stellar performance out of this phone....it's like a very reliable set of work boots that keep you on the job under adverse conditions. As a daily personal driver for media consumption.....FORGET IT!

Linus Tech Tips is right about the flaw in the Key2 keyboard design. I could write a book on my old BlackBerry Bold with ease but the learning curve on the Key2 keyboard was very long. Fortunately TCL is very proactive to customer feedback and I'm looking forward to their new 5G compatible phone in 2020.

PERIOD: So after looking at your video I tried it at Best Buy. If you press space bar twice, It will place a period (.) and a space after that. If I could find it out in 5 minutes, I do not know why you did not learn this in one month. I Liked the phone and I am thinking to buy an unlocked phone. However, my need is Dual Sim with as separate Dedicated SD card. Which at this time is Motorola XT1710-06. Bottom line - your review looks biased.

Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP has commenced a class action against BlackBerry Limited (“BlackBerry”) on behalf of a group of BlackBerry’s employees working in Ontario and across Canada.

                                          Update. June 12th, 2019

BlackBerry is seeking leave to appeal the decision of Justice Charbonneau dated May 27th, 2019 certifying our action as proper to proceed as a class action.

No date has as yet been fixed for the hearing of the BlackBerry motion. We will provide an update once further details are available.

                                          Update. May 30th, 2019

The Ontario Superior Court certified a class proceeding against BlackBerry.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice certified a class proceeding against BlackBerry Ltd. Impacted BlackBerry employees allege the company terminated their employment when BlackBerry allowed its business partner, the Ford Motor Co. of Canada, to offer them new employment without providing any clear offer of continued employment with BlackBerry. With no clear offer of employment from BlackBerry, the impacted employees accepted employment with Ford, without receiving severance from BlackBerry and with no recognition of their seniority from Ford.

The Representative Plaintiff, David Parker, was one of the BlackBerry employees who agreed to employment with Ford after BlackBerry would not provide him with any certainty about his future employment with BlackBerry. He started this Action in 2017 on behalf of the impacted employees with Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP as Class Counsel.

In a decision this week, Justice Michel Charbonneau concluded that Parker’s application satisfies the criteria for a class proceeding, as outlined in the Class Proceedings Act. Justice Charbonneau certified the class proceeding on behalf of:

All persons in Canada who were employees and/or dependant contractors of BlackBerry Limited (“BlackBerry”), who worked for BlackBerry in Canada and who were offered and accepted employment with the Ford Motor Company of Canada (“Ford”) between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017, while excluding BlackBerry employees who filed a complaint pursuant to section 96 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 seeking termination pay and/or severance pay and did not withdraw that complaint within two weeks.

Parker is named as the representative plaintiff on behalf of these employees. Most of the 300 affected employees are based in Waterloo and Ottawa, Ontario with the rest scattered throughout Ontario and Nova Scotia.

BlackBerry employees interested in more information about the class action should contact our team by reaching out to Leigh Norton: [email protected] and (613) 231-8216. We also encourage them to provide their contact information through the BlackBerry Class Action contact form at the bottom of this page to receive updates about this case.

We will provide further information for impacted employees once that becomes available.

Based on this review, I see no reason for the KEY2. I just text and phone, never watch videos on the phone, super rarely take photos and go on the internet only when I need to, to like find a train connection or check the weather or so.

The error rate is fucking ridiculous. They need to allow a person to adjust the size of the keys on the board, and not just make them for small peoples fingers.
