Look underneath the spare tire you'll find a "hose" you can connect to the air tank, you have in the trunk, to inflate the tires

Forget what year mine was but I paid 4,800 for it and it had push button start but it didn't have the nav system or the air suspension. Two of my favorite things about the car was the turning lamps that illuminated the road on either side of the vehicle depending on which way you put the turn signal and you can open the windows by putting the key in the lock and turning and holding it. Had it for less than a week and the CEL came on. Made an appointment to get it fixed and then a deer totaled it. Then I got a Forester.

I have a 2000 Mk4 Jetta VR6 that has the little rear-view-mirror visor (6:35). I always thought that was so clever...and better than the little black dots car makers put there now. She has 300k on her now.

The V10 diesel was such a cool engine. No belts at all, even for the alternator or power steering. Everything was gear-driven, lord help you if you didn't keep up on maintenance, though! The front brakes on those typically needed to be changed every time the tires wore out (which is also expensive because VW, Audi, and the Subaru Tribeca are the only cars that use that size) and I remember pricing out a set of valve cover gaskets for one and they don't sell the gasket separately. You have to buy the entire valve cover assembly to get the gasket and they didn't even stock them in the US, we had to order them from Germany. Hair-brained nonsense like that makes me wonder how the Germans even have an auto industry anymore.

I don't get all the comments on the supposed maintenance costs to these vehicles. They are luxury cars. Obviously it will be expensive to run after 15 years. You need to compare it to other vehicles (that tried to be) in its class.Even the air suspension is not that difficult to repair and they are much more robust than the systems in vehicles like the LR4.

Another feature: It came with a connector (below the front passenger seat) and hose with pressure gauge to use the air suspension reservoir to inflate tyres.

Another option that was not mentioned: They were also offered with a full-sized spare wheel on a swivel arm, if you do not like the inflatable one below the floor.

Re: the park distance control - You did not even mention that the warning sounds of the front and rear sensors are different. So, if you are pulling out of the garage you know whether it is the front or rear that is getting too close to an obstacle.

I had one for a month. It’s a wonderful truck to drive but was really thirsty with the V8. Those switches rubbing off is typical VW and not limited to this truck. Considering how much new cars costs these days I think you can have a lot of fun for $4600 and still have room until you get tired of fixing it
