The ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo is the first two-screen notebook we've seen that REALLY makes a lot of sense. It's a fantastic idea, and realistically every laptop maker is going to be doing this in the next year.

Worst Laptops and topping up with pathetic service. I brought i7 and there was Motherboard issue for which they want me to replace it for 17k ..... ASUS would be my last preference , congratulations 👍

@Russ H I believe the 40gbps connector is limited to the larger Pro model. For me, a frequent traveler, I prefer the smaller non Pro, but discouraged Asus limited the input speeds.

A "pro" laptop with 1 FCKIN TB3 port! Why THE FCK Asus WONT have more TB3 ports in a 4k dollar machine of 2019 is really something i cant understand. TOTAL deal breaker for me.

@Russ H My external tb3 audio interface will lock the tb3 port since you generally cant use hubs with audio interfaces, and i'd like to have at least 1 more tb3 on a "PRO" laptop in order to future proof it, make use of external nvme ssds, external gpus and everything that a tb3 port can offer. Its a "pro" laptop, not a gaming laptop.

Comes with USB3.1 and BT v5... with 40gbps transfer speed i'm sure you can plug a docking station in for when you need ten power hungry things connected.... Which will be never. I Can game perfectly fine over USB type A internet connection and get constant 17MBPS download speeds, sooo... Not sure what you need that can't be done with that considering you still have the 40gbps 3.1 connection.....

But, it doesn't have a AMD CPU so ... Nah :<

@Russ H Hm, I would've to look up the Ryzens new mobile Generation but the second one were hold back by bad Design from the Laptop Producers.
I've a Lenovo E585 and yeah, the Ryzen 2500U gets a little bit hotter (~10°C) than a comperable Intel - But the most Intel Laptops for ~800 Bucks back then had a GeForce Chip in it to get the same "Gaming Power" which had his own cooling pipes - So, the E585 for an example has simple a cheap cooler in it + from Lenovo limited "RAM" for the Graphic Chip vom AMD. (The Cooler died already ~5/6 months after I buyed the Laptop without any reason - I use the Laptop mainly for Office Stuff ...)

But(!) I agree, as far as I know Intels Mobile Chips had better power effenicy last yeah.
But, I can get over half an hour Battery Life personally. My problem is often, that producers sometimes doesn't get the Product right and People blaming AMD for it.
Anyway - A Intel Notebook is for me not interessting. Of course, if somebody ask me and wants a recommendation I've often point out a Intel System for him.
But personally, I just wanna a well designed AMD System and if I would've more Money right now (Student who drives and changes stuff on his own motorcycle, so sadly gaming isn't my main purporse anymore) I would try out Lenovos new ones (T495 for an example) - Especially because I can't really without a pain in the ass install Linux on my E585 because of a Firmware Bug. (Fix should come in August I think and really hope so, Win10 is for the daily use really not my kind of OS)

AMD is only better in their desktop series atm isn't it? Pretty sure this i9 outperforms any mobile AMD CPU right now...

The Asus Zenbook Pro Duo looks great but I have a feeling that it won't be a great typing and touchpad experience long-term... I was initially very excited about it but the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized that a good touchpad and good typing comfort is more important to me than a dedicated screen for timelines and other screen widgets... I actually think that they should have moved that extra screen to below the keyboard, where it could have served as an extra wide touchpad on its normal location as well as a combined writing/doodling area with digital pens. That way the touchpad wouldn't have been shoved all the way to the right and the keyboard would have remained at a comfortable distance for typing with no need for additional maneuvering and/or palm rests. The only thing lost would have been the direct physical screen extension feature but that's more of a gimmick anyway. OTOH, some have complained that at the current location it can can be hard to view the extra screen even with the provided inclination unless your head is straight above the laptop. By moving the extra screen to below the keyboard, there would be no problem with visibility and no need for any inclination - and, best of all, no need for moving the keyboard or touchpad!

                                              Russ H  2 weeks back

Below the keyboard would have sucked... How are you meant to look at the screen when your wrists and constantly covering it up... Simple solution to the viewing angle is to prop the rear of the laptop up further with a stand when in long term use... I still think above is the best position for the most common multi-tasking scenarios they give. You want minimal distance between the two screens as it's the keyboard that you don't need to look at....Either way, no laptop fits all.

The dual screens allows for an Excel spreadsheet up below my 3D CAD program. This allows me to complete weight studies at a faster rate than before and weight studies are very important and huge time consumers! Love it!

The pallets could be lower and a full drawing screen could be displayed for the most drawing area real estate! I gifted my ASUS Zephyrus to a relative to power up to the MSI I-9. If I had know this was in the works I would have waited. I guess I will gift this MSI and get the dual display once it hits the market!!

However by looking into the review video, there are lots of features mixed into one device. As a programmer, I wish there is an option for Developer Edition or Designer Edition or Gamer Edition or All-in-One Edition, because as a programmer I am only looking for a laptop in terms of performance like CPU, RAM, Cache and not much about GPU etc.
I hope to see the changes I am looking for in the near future. Until then I will hold up.
