In my last MVP prediction video, I picked John Wall. So maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Curry should have a dominant season, but I don't think they will win enough games to have him as a contender! If I had to narrow it down, the 4 guys i'm looking at are Kawhi, Giannis, Jokic, and Embiid in that order, if Kawhi and Embiid play enough games obviously!

Cant the warriors get a center or a small foward?(Idk too much of the economy and contracts in nba)

                  Khang Nguyen  1 months back

Tiago Pires next year if dlo stays, klay can play SF as hes a great perimeter defender and is 6’7. If they trade him for a good small foward they can keep klay at SG. If you talking about this year, they can always develop the SG that they drafted whatever his name was

                  Tiago Pires  1 months back

@Khang Nguyen if they trade dlo for they dont have a shooting guard, I mean kevon looney is not that solid of a center but he does his job. Keep in mind that klay is injured, so they really need either a shooting guard (if dlo traded) or a small foward(if dlo stays). In either ways they need a player, so what i was asking is that if they can or not buy a player.

They have 2 solid centers, they just need a better small foward which theyll probably trade dlo for

I agree with this video 100%. A lot of people in the comments r saying that people forgot that he won a title without kd with 2 mvps with one being unanimous and ur so true. I am a really really really huge steph curry fan and even from a non bias standpoint I still think curry has a chance to win 2020 mvp. Well no not a chance, HE WILL WIN 2020 MVP. Everyone who is looking at this comment, YOU JUST WATCH.

I’d LOVE to see Steph Curry prove critics and haters wrong (once again) by winning the MVP. People have forgotten just how God level of a player Steph really is.

PS. Hopefully Klay recovers quickly. I love Klay as much as Steph.

The MVP is a regular season award though and last year Curry was in the MVP conversation for a little while, but he was still never gonna get it, because he allowed KD to be the first option

The last 3 winners of the MVP were Westbrook, Harden and Giannis.

None of them is an elite shooter. All of them required high usage to pump their stats. Two of them, in their MVP season, played almost no defense. Giannis isn't good at off-ball movement; Westbrook and Harden famously stand and gawk when the ball isn't in their hands.

Giannis, at least, defends well - but he is terribly vulnerable to playoff-caliber defense himself. Wall him out, dare him to take 3's and mid-range shots, and it just doesn't work well for him, or his team.

Two of the three last MVPs are poor free-throw shooters. Only Harden is elite - both in his ability to draw fouls and to make the charity shots. But that accomplishment comes with controversy; he's a flopper who pushes rules exploitation right to the limit, and sometimes past that limit. He's a ref's worst nightmare.

None of the 3 last MVPs carried their teams to the finals.

In short, since the two Curry MVPs, the voters have let stats blind them to grave flaws in their favorite players' games. Instead, they've hung their hats on stats and stories for stars who aren't really excelling in enough aspects of the game to deserve the title.

At least 5 players were better than those three MVPs in the years each won. This past year, Leonard was clearly the best player in the NBA, but the voters liked the Giannis story better. Curry and Durant were both better than Giannis, too, in terms of their value to their teams. This isn't to say that Giannis, or Harden, or Westbrook aren't valuable players; they just didn't merit those MVP awards. They weren't good enough.

In a league where putting the ball in the hoop and defensive success are the points, the last 3 MVPs were mistakes.

Durant is so valuable that he can command a max contract *from any team in the league* when he's not able to play at all next season. Think Giannis would command that much respect? He wouldn't. He can be stopped. KD is beyond stopping when he's healthy.

But Durant isn't in the running next season, since he won't be playing. Leonard is on a stacked team; ditto for LeBron, Paul George and AD. We've seen voters ignore candidates on stacked teams for years. Giannis isn't going to improve his shooting, and the better teams have figured out how to defend him. Harden and Westbrook will be dysfunctional, both needing touches the other covets and neither willing to move without the ball. Their stats will suffer. Jokic won't generate enough points. Embiid is on a superteam now, too, he'll have to share the scoring duties.

On paper, this does look like Curry's year, since he'll have to shoulder so much of the scoring load for Golden State. He's not an elite defender, either (which the MVP voters don't seem to care about, anyway), but he doesn't stand around clueless on defense; he hustles. His game is strong enough.

                                                                    But he won't win.

Curry's ankles are one weakness. He's had so many sprains, he can get another one just by walking down steps or jumping rope or playing golf. The odds of him missing games is high.

And he has a degenerative vision problem. Didn't you notice that those famous long shots from 2016 went missing from his game last season? He can't take those shots any more. He's wearing contacts, but those introduce minor visual distortions he didn't have when he was shooting the lights out. He's shooting closer to the arc now, and defenses take him *very* seriously when the ball is in his hands. They double-team him. With KD and Klay as outlets, that was good for the Warriors, mostly, but with KD gone, with Thompson sidelined... it's not the same. Next season, Curry will be double-teamed more than any other player in the league, precisely because elite shooters are rarer on the Warriors' roster.

Curry is still dangerous; he can still create his own shot; he can still use screens to get free and take those shots; but he's a step down from what he was. And though we talk often of Curry's amazing gravity and how it opens up possibilities for his teammates, we rarely talk about how KD and Thompson made it difficult to fully guard Curry with an all-out defensive effort. With them off the court, Curry will get a *lot* of defensive attention... at a time when those ridiculous half-court shots of his have been relegated to the past.

What he was, was ridiculous. *Nobody* can shoot the way he shot from so far out. Now, neither can Curry.

Offsetting those losses are canniness, wisdom, experience, clever tactics. Curry is brilliant; he'll find ways to score.

But an MVP season is not in the cards for Stephen Curry, in my opinion. He might *be* the MVP, in the original sense of the word - the player who does the most to elevate his team's success. Arguably, he has been that right along since his two MVP seasons. Voter boredom, voter obsession with stats, voter love for stories, voters hating KD's decision to play with the Warriors, seduced them away from Curry. Next season, when his ankles force him to sit games, when his efficiency and output are hampered by the lack of spacing created by his teammates, without the long balls that so impressed MVP voters in 2016, they will find it easy to ignore him again.

Curry will be good. Elite, even. But his performance won't win enough votes from jaded MVP voters.

If I'm wrong, it will put a big smile on my face.

Ben Simmons might become a top 10 player in da league if he actually start shooting. He gon be LeBron-like. A defender, big, guard skills, passing, scoring from driving, & shooting.

This was also with several suspensions and injuries to key players for the Warriors.
