My 18mos. old LG OLED B8 has burn in AND dark blotches that apparently will never go away. Contacted LG support and have yet to receive any response from them. They are well aware of the problems with their panels. They just don't care. Will never buy another LG TV regardless of it's techoology. STAY AWAY from them.

You should have researched before. OLED = organic. Anything organic can and will die. It’s only a matter of time

The oled color palette is leaning toward pink, where the qled palette leans to the yellow.

i can't keep my eyes off LG OLED.. but that chance of screen burn in and OLED pixel degradation are the major letdowns..

Samsung once did a oled TV and never went back to them due to burning issues however they use oled in there phones due to screen not always on so don't have burning issues and people changing phones at least every 2 years just thought I'd share a fact to you 🙂

OLED risks burn in and Samsung doesn't have Dolby Vision, it also has poorer viewing angles. Neither are great.

QLED doesn't have burn in and the latest model Q9FN is very similar to an OLED. The problem with QLED is the lack of Dolby vision.

I know this review was posted a year ago; however, still useful information. Just know that the Samsung QLED Q90R is the same price as the LG C9P OLED. The viewing angle issue mentioned in this video has been fixed with the Q90R as well which I believe Samsung actually included in the Q80R models as well and the Q80R is about $800 cheaper.

While OLED is much better, LED is a mature technique, so QLED is an interesting technology IMO. Samsung could've easily roll out OLED televisions left and right but instead they differentiate themselves from the competition by introducing a proven technique, improved. OLED has too many downsides.. think of channel logo's displaying in the top left/right corner.. those will burn in. It's not a matter of if, but when. That's a no go signal for me already. QLED all the way.

I have a question: i'm not a tech type of person but through my work I'm able to buy the 65" Class Q90R QLED Smart 4K UHD TV (2019) close to a $1000 cheaper . I do have some plug type of devices; fire stick, ect. .. So, would you buy an LG - 65" Class - OLED - C8 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR, which would cost $300 more than the samsung.. Like I said since i'm not great with tech stuff so the plug in stuff I have, is that going to be an issue with an LG?

Im getting a C9. The Q9FN is great, but the fact that its more expensive and in a 65" at the least decides it for me.

The C9 has a 55" option for my room, less expensive, and has better black levels is the decider. My bedroom is usually dark so theres no reason for me to get a TV with up to 1500 nits of brightness.

It all come down to viewing habits. I have a Sony AF8 and one friend the Q9fn. So if you watch HDR stuff in a bright room the Q9 will look better especially in bright outdoor footage, and that's because of high luminosity and saturated bright colors. But the thing is most people will want a TV for movies and usually a movie is best seen in a dark room. And here is where OLED is so much better, contrast and colors. To have the best TV you'll have to buy them both and use them depending on the environment and content.
