Did you ever run any one shots of this?

Unfortunately no, I've not got around to running any one shots using this book yet.

It does sound like a fun setting.  I do rather like systemless settings.

Sorry, I don't.  I think you can purchase from the Columbia Games website.  As I said, they were a gift from a friend so I actually don't know that much about purchasing them.  hehe.

A friend of mine gave me a TON of material for it for free.  Links... let's see.  It is a low-magic medieval type fantasy setting that goes into minute details on how everything works.  I enjoyed reading through the book they had on religions.

HarnMaster is the system.  Harn is the setting.  HarnMaster I am told has a lot in common with Rolemaster but I have not looked over it, even though it is sitting on my shelf.

@Samwise Seven RPG: Do you have a link to any Harn stuff? I'd be interesting in perusing it, but I have heard it's not exactly cheap.

Nice review. Really gives a good understanding of the book. I'm impressed with how much it fit into 30 pages!

@Immersion Studios : Glad you enjoyed the review; likewise I was very impressed with how much information and how much of the setting flavour they managed to cram into a very small number of pages.

@JdrD30 : I certainly thought it had a lot of promise and reminds me of early sci-fi comics, I can see the setting accomodating multiple types of sci-fi game :)

I like the idea of this setting and I've advocated for some time now that publishers should release system neutral setting books and then if they so wish companion books with stats for specific systems.  I can see me using this in conjunction with either True20, Savage Worlds or Space Master and if I ever get around to grabbing HARP SF it would be an interesting setting for that as well.

@Red Dice Diaries Yep I could see me grabbing it soon as a nice generic setting for SW/T20.

@Ronnie Bradley : It certainly is a very interesting setting, i'm hoping to get round to running some Fate one-shots using it in the near future :)

Reviewing the Strange Stars system neutral sci-fi setting.
