Form yes depending on your goals, strongmen don't focus on form , n pass a point "weights" your vshape waist will change to a hard fat belt. Been lifting for years , so I saw my vshape turning to a U shape 😂. But the video is perfect for athletes . Peace

Any thing that you would add or recommend for juveniles or youth considering when to begin strength conditioning with complex movements like the deadlift, squat, etc.?

That tip about pushing the floor down is the best tip I’ve had for a deadlift...I think my form was pretty spot on anyway, but when I focused my lats and “pushed the floor down” it felt amazing and I got a huge boost to my lift!

Great video man!! I'm just started starting to incorporate deadlifts in my gym routine and I'm not very good at them but this video explained perfect and easy solutions to my problems with the movement. Again great video, excellent instructions. Please make one on squats and maybe Olympic lifts if you do the. Thanks.

You forgot, don't bounce the bar! Too many people using momentum to get reps which is incorrect. It's a deadlift! Singles only!

Now, I look forward to them and I enjoy them; grunting and groaning, but still enjoy them.

Lat engagement is only significant when your arms are at a forward angle due to leaning forward more, which will allow you to decrease the lever arm that your back and hips must work against, allowing you to lift more (assuming your lats are up to the task). If your arms are hanging straight down the whole time as you move through the lift, you're not going to be activating your lats. Hence, this guy might like to voluntarily flex his lats for purposes of making a video, but since his arms are vertical throughout the bottom portion of the lift and at a slight negative degree for the remainder, he's not actually working his lats at all in this lift.

You'll probably still make these errors, especially when you're fatigued, , but that's ok. Just don't get frustrated, pay attention, don't hurt yourself, and most importantly, KEEP GOING.

I'm by no means an expert, but what I've figured out is that weightlifting is a game of subtlety you play with yourself. Every rep is another round of the game, and you know when you nail it, or not.

Is it ok to over arch your back when deadlifting? Like really pin back your shoulder blades, look up, push out your chest and create like a really deep arch? When I do this I feel pressure in my back and middle of my spine. I hear a lot about avoiding bending your back, but how deep can you arch it? Will it cause injury?
